Huawei and TSTT (Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago) announced on December 12, 2010 the launch of the commercial WiMAX network in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, using Huawei's end-to-end WiMAX solution, according to a press release by Huawei. TSTT is a major telecom operator in Trinidad and Tobago. It is reported that the first phase of the WiMAX network construction has already begun, and the entire network deployment is slated for completion in early 2011. Upon completion, it is expected that all islands in the country will have access to Internet.
